At Turing, we believe that the strength of our organization is tightly bound to the success and empowerment of our community. The Mentorship Program at Turing is a foundational element of this community, built to foster relationships, support the personal and professional growth of students, alumni, and friends, while elevating the work being done by our internal teams (both instructional and career development) through the influence of outside perspectives and experiences.
We aim for students to develop a sense of belonging in the tech industry, starting with the Turing community. Houses are a space where students can cultivate their identity as developers with support from the relationships they build with other community members. Mentors are an essential component of that community because they provide a bridge for students between the new information they’re learning and the careers they will launch. In Houses, mentors are able to model the behaviors and mindsets that will set students up for success in their technical careers.
